Caribbean Data SIM Card
Our SIM card for the Caribbean is the perfect solution for travelers who want to avoid poor service and high roaming fees from US and Canadian cellular providers. The service works seamlessly from one country to the next as per the list of countries below. The SIM card provides 1GB of data at 4G/LTE speeds (where available, otherwise you will get 3G) speeds and is valid for 30 days. Once you are done with your trip or have consumed the 1GB of data, simply dispose of the SIM Card. If you need more than 1GB of data, please purchase additional SIMs. Cellular Abroad will refund you for unused SIM cards. What can you do with 1GB of data? Please refer to our Data Rate Calculator.
Please note, although this is a data only SIM, you can make and receive calls using a calling app such as WhatsApp, Skype or other in order to make and receive calls which are considerably less expensive anyway than direct dialing. In fact, you can make approximately 85 hours of calls with 1GB of data.
Plug and Play
The service is plug and play which means that you simply insert it in your unlocked device, set the APN as per our instructions and the service will immediately start to work in any of the destinations listed below. The SIM is compatible with any unlocked phone or tablet. Please note that Verizon LTE phones are initially locked for 60 days upon purchase and then are automatically unlocked. Most other carrier's phones such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are locked. If your service is with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or another carrier, please check with them to see if your phone is unlocked or can be unlocked. If you purchased your iPhone directly through Apple, it is unlocked. Please check with your carrier as policies may change.
Secure and Convenient
Using public Wi-Fi is not only inconvenient but it exposes you to risks of data theft. Even if you use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) or a website secured by https (used for online banking, for example), accessing the internet from your device via a public Wi-Fi hotspot exposes you to risks. Our SIM card for use in the Caribbean, through the authentication and encryption process, ensures that accessing your is nearly impossible.

Caribbean Data SIM card Frequently Asked Questions
How do I activate my SIM card?
Your SIM is ready to go as soon as you arrive at your destination and enter you APN settings as per the instructions provided with the SIM card.
How do I know how much data I will need?
You can extrapolate how much data you will need by gauging your current usage. Check with your provider to see how much you typically use. Alternatively, you can also refer to our Data Calculator. In any event, if you are not sure, you can always purchase extra SIM cards and return them unused to Cellular Abroad for a full credit.
How do I know if my phone is unlocked?
You cannot tell physically if your cell phone is unlocked. If you are with AT&T and you put a different SIM card (such as T-Mobile) in and it picks up a network, it is unlocked. Conversely, if you put another SIM card in and it says, "enter subsidy code" or similar, it is locked. Call your carrier to check to see if your phone is unlocked or if it qualifies for being unlocked. Please note that all Verizon iPhone 5, 6, 7, 8, X and 11 when purchased through the carrier are initially locked for the first 60 days and all phones purchased directly through Apple are unlocked
Why don't I just purchase a SIM card when I get to the Caribbean?
You can certainly do this. The advantage of purchasing our SIM card is that it will allow you to roam to different Caribbean destinations whereas local ones don't. Plus, you will have data access as soon as you arrive.
How good is the coverage?
The coverage is very good on land. At sea, you will often get a signal a mile or two off shore.
Why don't I just use free Wi Fi?
Some people rarely need to use the internet. If you only need to check your emails once a day or less, then this might be a good alternative to you. Remember that free Wi Fi is not always fast, nor is it reliable, nor is it secure.
