Please be sure to read these instructions prior to departing for Switzerland.

PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL YOUR SIM CARD PRIOR TO ARRIVING IN SWITZERLAND. DOING SO COULD MAKE YOUR CARD INVALID.

If you experience any technical difficulties with your phone or SIM card and you do not contact Cellular Abroad for technical support by phone or by email during your trip, we cannot offer any refund or compensation.

Switzerland to Your Switzerland Cell Number: area code - phone number

Rental Setup

  • Make sure the battery is charged and the language settings on the phone are set to English.

For SIM Card Purchases Only
Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM phone's SIM card slot. (The SIM card slot is usually located under the phone's battery. If unsure of how to properly install the SIM chip, consult your phone's user guide).

  • Turn on your phone and enter the 4 digit PIN code contained in your packaging. (It's concealed behind a black peel-back panel facing the page where the SIM card is affixed).  Consult your phone manual for how to do this (Try consulting the index under "security", "lock", "SIM", or "PIN.").

Activating Phone Service
Your first call in Switzerland activates your SIM.

PIN and PUK codes
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code prevents unauthorized access to the SIM card in your phone. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly 3 times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. To un-block the SIM card, you will need to enter the PUK (Personal Unlock Key) code. Please consult your manual for how to disable the PIN-check feature.

Voicemail
The first time you call your Lebara Voicemail you will be given the option to create a security code and record a personalized Lebara Voicemail message. Your default code is set to the last 4 digits of your phone number - this will stay the same unless you choose to follow the voice prompts to change it.

To listen to your messages from your mobile phone in Switzerland:

  • Dial +41 76 333 33 33 <Send>.

From your mobile phone outside Switzerland:

  • Dial +4186076 followed by the last 7 digits of your phone number.
  • As soon as you hear your own greeting press # to interrupt it.
  • Enter your 4-digit mailbox password and press the # key again.

To change the language:
At the voice prompt:

  • Press 1 for German
  • Press 2 for French
  • Press 3 for Italian
  • Press 4 for English

Checking your Credit
To check your credit dial *147# <send>.  Your balance will be displayed on your screen.

Purchasing More Credit
The easiest way to purchase more talk time is through Cellular Abroad (7 days/week English speaking reps) before and during your trip.  We offer 10 CHF of credit for $19.  This is the best method when travelling since you can spend more time enjoying your trip than looking for stores that sell recharge vouchers.

The refill card is available at many retailers in Switzerland.  Lebara Mobile top-ups are available as CHF 10, CHF 20, and CHF 30 vouchers.

Recharging Your Card
To recharge your SIM, follow these simple instructions:

  1. Rub off the security strip on the Refill card to reveal a 16 digit code.
  2. Dial *127* followed by the 16 digit code and # then the send button.  Ex. *127*xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx# <send>
  3. A short time later you will receive a SMS short message on your mobile phone display to indicate that your prepaid account has been recharged.

Troubleshooting
