Car Rentals in Spain
Renting a car in Spain can be an awarding experience and can allow you to see parts of Spain that are not on any organized tour. However, before venturing out and booking your car rental, there are a few things to consider. In Spain driving occurs on the right side of the road. Vehicles approaching from the right have the right of way. If you need to pass a vehicle, be sure to do so on the left. Major roads always have the right of way over minor roads. Spain boasts 7,000 kilometers of highways, much of which is toll-free but there are roads that require toll payment.

Parking in Spain can be challenging in the major cities but Spain has done much to try to manage the parking problems. On one way streets, parking is permitted on even dates along the side of the street with even numbered addresses and on the other side of the street on alternate days. Blue Zones are restricted parking areas. Zona Oras are zones where you must display a parking ticket which cab be purchased through magazine kiosks.
You must always carry a valid driving license as well as proof of insurance. Police may levy a fine payable on the spot for lack of proper documentation.
