If you experience any technical difficulties with your phone or SIM card and you do not contact Cellular Abroad for technical support by phone or by email during your trip, we cannot offer any refund or compensation.



Dialing information
Your phone needs to be an unlocked dual-band, tri-band or quad-band GSM phone capable of functioning in the 900/1800 MHz GSM band.

Your Spain Cell Number to USA: 001 – area code – phone number

US to Spain Cell Number: 011 – 34 – your Spanish phone number

Your Spain Cell Number to Spain: Direct Dial Spanish phone number

Spain to Your Spain Cell Number: 0 – Your Spanish phone number (minus the 34 country code)

Important: Toll free 800 numbers based in the US may not always be available from overseas cell phones.

Activating Your Service

IMPORTANT: Please follow this activation procedure before departing for Spain.

The Spanish government requires we submit the following information.

  • Your Orange Mundo cell phone number
  • Your PIN & PUK number
  • Departure date for Spain
  • Your name
  • Your date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passport number
  • Your email address
  • Please email this information to: support@cellularabroad.com

    If you are activating more than one SIM card, please send separate emails.

Rental & Phone Purchase Setup  

  • The SIM card has been installed
  • Make sure your phone is charged and the menu settings are in English.
  • The initial credit is preloaded and you may make or receive calls in Spain once the SIM is activated
  • See Activating Your Service above

For SIM Card Purchases

  • Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs.
  • If the menu settings do not appear in English consult your phone manual to change the language setting
  • The initial credit is preloaded and you may make or receive calls in Spain once the SIM is activated
  • See Activating Your Service above

PIN and PUK codes
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code prevents unauthorized access to the SIM card in your phone. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly 3 times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. To un-block the SIM card, you will need to enter the PUK (Personal Unlock Key) code. Please consult your manual for how to disable the PIN-check feature.

Voicemail
The voicemail has been pre-activated for you. To reach the voicemail system, dial 242 <SEND> from your mobile phone. The menu options are in Spanish and cannot be changed, however, here are the options:

  • Press 1 to listen to your messages
  • Press 2 to activate voice mail
  • Press 3 to deactivate voice mail (Or, dial ##002#)
  • Press 4 to personalize voicemail
  • Press 5 to retrieve number of person that left message
  • Press 6 for time and date of call
  • Press 11 to repeat the message
  • Press 33 to go to the next message
  • Press 77 to erase current message and go to next message

Checking Your Credit
Within Spain, dial *111# send/talk and you will get a test message displaying your current credit. The first five credit checks are free. €0.08 will be billed thereafter.

Purchasing More Talk Time
Purchase recharges locally in Spain at gas stations, supermarket call shops, tobaco shops, news agents, VIP stores, Telecor, “el Correo” (post office) or The Phone House.

Adding More Talk Time Credit
Even if you have zero credit, since incoming calls are always free, you will still be able to receive calls.

If you receive a physical voucher, carefully remove the scratch-off coating on the back of your recharge card, exposing the recharge PIN code.

  • Dial 470 and follow the prompts to add your credit

If you receive a voucher code over the phone through Cellular Abroad while overseas, you will need to enter the voucher code we provided you with over the phone.

Data Plan Setup
Included are the data plan instructions for some current popular smart phones. If you are unable to set up data using these instructions, consult the user manual for your phone. You can also call Cellular Abroad at 1-800-287-5072.

Android OS Phone Setup

  • Select Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks
  • Leave Data Roaming unchecked
  • Select Access Point Names
  • In APNs screen, bring up the menu screen and select Add new or New APN
  • Set the following case-sensitive options:
    Name: Orange World
    APN: OrangeWorld
    Proxy: 10.132.61.10
    Port: 8080
    Username: orange
    Password: orange
    Server: <leave blank>
    MMSC: <leave blank>
    MMS proxy: <leave blank>
    MMS port: <leave blank>
    MCC: Do not edit this record
    MNC: Do not edit this record
    Network Type: IPv4
    Authentication type: "None"
    APN type: Leave blank, or choose "Internet" if given a dropdown list
  • Tap the menu screen again and select "Save" or "Save APN"
  • Your new APN should appear in the list on the "APNs" screen
  • Do not activate this APN until you arrive in Spain to avoid expensive roaming fees.
  • To activate your data account, tap the dot next to the APN name to turn it green.
  • Once activated, you can start browsing.

iPhone, iPad and iOS Phone Setup

  • Select Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network OR
    Settings > Cellular Data > APN Settings for iPad
  • Set the APN to: OrangeWorld
  • Set both the username and password to: orange
  • Once set, you do not need to save
  • Set your Data Roaming toggle OFF before arriving in Spain to ensure you do not use your credit on expensive roaming fees.
  • Set your Data Roaming toggle ON when you arrive in Spain
  • Start browsing.

Other Phone Model Setup

  • Most phones have similar Data Network or Connectivity settings menus. Below is a list of the most common settings:
    Name: Orange World
    APN: OrangeWorld
    Username: orange
    Password: orange
    Bearer: GPRS
    Proxy: 10.132.61.10
    Port: 8080
    Authentication type: "None"
    APN type: "Internet"
  • If you are unsure about your settings, call our support hotline at the number below.

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to make or receive calls switch networks on your phone.  Consult your phone’s manual.  The steps will be like these:

  • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Available Network/Change Network > Search
  • Select a different network carrier than the one currently shown.

If you are receiving no reception bars, emergency calls only, SOS, or no service, check your phone's band setting. Here is how to change the band setting on most handsets:

  • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Network Setup >Band
  • Make sure you select 900/1800

Service Life
Your SIM Card has a 12 month service life from the day of activation. Service is extended 12 months each time you recharge you account at least 5 Euros.

To inquire about the possibility of extending your SIM card’s service life while outside the SIM card’s country of origin, contact the telecom provider's customer service, Cellular Abroad does not provide support for this feature.
