Your Singapore SIM Card Cell Phone Number:
Your cell phone number is on the back of your Singapore SIM Card package (called the M Card) where it says, "Mobile Phone No."

Activating your service:

  • Go to Singapore
  • Be sure that battery is charged
  • Turn on your phone
  • Activate your M card by making an outgoing call. You will be diverted to the Balance & Top-up Hotline to choose your preferred language for future announcements.
  • The expiry date of your M card will be set for 90 days from the date of your first call. When your call credits run low or the expiry date is near, you should top up your call credits.
  • After you top up, the expiry date will be extended to 90 days from the date of your top-up.

Call Credit:
Dial 171 from your handset in order to receive call credit information.

Recharging Your SIM Card:
You may purchase a recharge card called the "Top-Up Card" from any M1 Shop, M1 Shop Concessionaire or any other authorized dealer.

  • Scratch the security seal on the Top-Up Card to reveal the PIN
  • Call 97600000 (toll free)
  • Press 1 for Top-Up
  • Key in the 10-digit serial no. and the 6-digit PIN continuously followed by the # key (If your Top-Up Card contains a 16-digit PIN, simply key in the 16-digit PIN followed by the # key)
  • Upon a successful Top-Up, you will hear the new credit balance and expiry date of your M Card

Voicemail:
To activate your Voicemail box, you must do the following:

  • Dial **004*13 xxxxxxxx # and then the send key (the "x"s are your phone number)
  • To retrieve messages dial 1381, then the talk or send key
The language available for the Voicemail is English and you cannot personalize your greeting.

Checking Your Credit:
At the end of every call, you will receive an SMS informing you your latest call credits and expiry date. You can also call in to the Balance & Top-Up hotline at 9760-0000. This toll-free number has been preloaded into your M Card phonebook. Dial 1112 to directly access your call credits and expiry information. You need to maintain a minimum balance of S$0.60 in order to make a local call.

Detailed Rates:
The below rates are expressed in Singapore Dollars. One Singapore Dollar is approximately $0.66 USD.

To enjoy FREE incoming calls there is a daily deduction of only 60¢ a day and you MUST dial #100*5*1# and hit SEND to activate it.

Please note once the free incoming call feature is activated, there will be a daily 60¢ regardless whether the card is being used or not. The deduction will continue until there are no more funds available on the card.

All calls are charged in 1-min block for the first minute and 6-sec blocks subsequently. Without a minimum balance of S$0.60, you cannot make a local call.

Service Life:
Your Singapore SIM Card will expire 90 days from the date of activation (the day you make your first call). If you recharge your SIM card, the expiry date will be extended to 3 months from the recharge date. One week before the expiry date, you will hear announcements reminding you of the approaching expiry date when you receive incoming calls.

Multi-Country Travel
You can also purchase other SIM cards as well for other countries to where you may be traveling. (This option is good for those planning on doing a lot of local calling.) We also offer an international roaming Talk Abroad™ SIM Card that is convenient for travel to multiple countries. (This option is useful for those wanting a single number for use in multiple countries and who will be making more calls back home than locally.)
