Unlike traditional cell phone rental options where you pay expensive per-minute usage rates for all calls, our solution allows you to take advantage of the low rates that the locals are paying, regardless of the length of your trip. These rates are extremely advantageous and even include unlimited FREE incoming calls!

As part of your rental package, you are purchasing a prepaid Philippines SIM card. A SIM card—also known as a chip—slips easily into a GSM phone. The SIM card is the "brain" of the phone and is what allows you to make calls within Philippines or to anywhere in the world. The card is linked to a prepaid account so that you will never receive a phone bill and will always be in complete control of your expenditures. If needed, you can simply add more talk time to your account by purchasing a scratch-off recharge card and entering the unique code off the card into the handset. Since incoming calls are always free, even if you have depleted your credit you can still receive incoming calls from anywhere in the world.

Our Country Specific rental packages include the rental of an unlocked GSM Tri-Band Phone and the purchase of a SIM card specific to your destination country. There are two phone rental packages available: The standard rental package features an unlocked Motorola cell phone. Our Deluxe rental package features a WIFI Data cell phone. Important FAQs for Rentals

• When do I order?
  You can order as far in advance as you like - even months prior to your departure. We will not ship your rental until the appropriate date in order for you to receive it in time for your departure. Rentals are typically shipped FedEx 2-Day service, unless faster service is required.
• What’s this going to cost me?
  • The applicable rental period fee for the duration of your rental period.
  • The price of the SIM card (1 per phone).
  • $29.96 Round-trip Shipping, add $10 for overnight delivery
• What is the latest I can order a rental phone?
  Although it's not recommended to place your order at the last minute, you can order up to one business day prior to your departure as long as you call in prior to 4pm Pacific Time. Even if you are leaving early in the morning, we can usually get your phone to you. Please call our 800 number (rather than order via the web) in order to confirm that we can get you your cell phone rental on time. Please take into account that bad weather can sometimes delay FedEx shipments. Cellular Abroad cannot refund the price of priority shipping for orders placed the day before departure if the package arrives late due to the weather.
• When do I get the phone?
  You will receive your cell phone rental a day or two prior to your departure.
• Does the cell phone come charged?
  Yes it does. You need only insert the SIM chip into the rental phone's SIM card slot, which is easily done. (Please let us know if you would like for us to do this for you.)
• What happens if I cancel?
  As long as your cell phone rental has not been shipped, you will only be charged the reserve fee ($25 per phone). In the case that your rental has been sent out, you are only responsible for a one week rental plus the shipping.
• What will the rates be for people calling me from the US?
  That depends on the international long distance rates charged by their long distance company. 
• Does Cellular Abroad offer insurance against loss or damage?
  No, we do not, and this is why. Technically, you are purchasing the phone from Cellular Abroad. The vast majority of credit card companies offer their own insurance against loss or damage for purchases, but usually not for rentals. Therefore, and given this premise, you are already covered for accidental loss or damage...at no extra charge!

Multi-Country Travel
You can also purchase other SIM cards as well for other countries to where you may be traveling. (This option is good for those planning on doing a lot of local calling.) We also offer an international roaming Talk Abroad™ rental that is convenient for travel to multiple countries. (This option is useful for those wanting a single number for use in multiple countries and who will be making more calls back home than locally.)
