Rental Setup
- Make sure your phone is charged and the menu settings are in English.
For SIM Card Purchases Only
Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs.
- Make sure your phone is charged and the menu settings are in English.
- PIN1 codes have all been defaulted to 0000. Enter it to access the menus. It is a good idea to disable the PIN-check feature on your SIM card. If unsure, consult your phone's user guide under "security", "PIN", or "SIM".
PIN and PUK codes
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code prevents unauthorized access to the SIM card in your phone. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly 3 times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. To un-block the SIM card, you will need to enter the PUK (Personal Unlock Key) code. Please consult your manual for how to disable the PIN-check feature.
Activating Your Service
- When you arrive in Palestine, add your initial talk time recharge. Dial *122*, followed by the 13 digit recharge voucher number, followed by the # sign, then OK/Send.
- Alternatively, call 122, then follow the voice commands.
- Your first call activates your service.
Checking Your Account Credit
- Dial 1330.
- Your credit will be read to you.
Purchasing More Talk Time
Additional call credit can be added by purchasing Jawwal recharge cards. They are sold in denominations of 20 (~$4.30), 50 (~$10.80), 100 (~$15.50) and 200 (~$21.70) NIS at tobacco shops, magazine kiosks and any convenience store displaying the Jawwal logo.
Adding Talk Time
Even if you have zero credit - since incoming calls are always free - you will still be able to receive calls. Once you have purchased a recharge card, simply follow these easy instructions:
- Simply scratch off the protective coating on the back of the card to reveal your voucher code
- Call 122 from your own mobile phone and follow the voice instructions
- Enter the 13 digit code followed by the #
- Upon successful entry of the code, your account will be credited
- Listen to your new balance and end the call
