Please be sure to read these instructions prior to departing for Kuwait. If you're consulting your phone's user guide, please defer to the instructions below with regard to the use of your Kuwait SIM card. (Phone manuals are written in general terms.)

Your Kuwait SIM Card Cell Phone Number:
Your cellular phone number for Kuwait is on the SIM card package. Therefore, you can advise your contacts as to what your cell phone number will be prior to your actual departure to Kuwait.

Important: Most US toll free numbers are not accessable from overseas. Be sure to get valid international numbers prior to your departure.

  • Unlimited FREE incoming calls from other cell phones originating in Kuwait. Incoming international calls are $0.16 per minute.
  • Low rates within Kuwait and $0.75 per minute to the US
  • A Kuwait cellular phone number.
  • Complete with FREE airtime worth 15KD approx. $51.20 USD.
  • Voicemail.
  • No yearly contract, monthly charges or credit check.

Preparing Your Phone for use overseas:

While you won't be able to use your SIM card until you get to Kuwait, there are a few things you can do to test your equipment and prep your phone.

  • Test that your phone charger works well with your phone and make sure your phone's battery can take and hold a charge. (All Cellular Abroad phones come with variable-voltage chargers.)
  • If you are supplying your own phone, make sure you have the phone menus specifically set to use English (as opposed to the "automatic" setting.) Consult your phone manual if you don't know where the language setting is.
  • Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs. (You'll usually find your phone's SIM card slot underneath the battery of your GSM cell phone. Consult your phone manual if unsure of the proper installation procedure.)
  • Turn on your phone and—if prompted—enter the default 4-digit PIN code 0000.
We strongly suggest you turn off the PIN-check feature if you are prompted for a PIN number every time your phone is turned on. Again, consult your phone manual for how to do this. (Hint: Look under "security", "PIN", or "SIM" section of your manual's index.)

Activating Your Service:

  • Go to Kuwait.
  • Be sure that battery is charged
  • Turn on your phone.
  • Place a call in order to activate your service
