If you experience any technical difficulties with your phone or SIM card and you do not contact Cellular Abroad for technical support by phone or by email during your trip, we cannot offer any refund or compensation.
Your phone needs to be an unlocked dual-band, tri-band or quad-band GSM phone capable of functioning on the 900/1800 MHz GSM bands in order to accept the SIM card. 3G service is only available to phones carrying the 3G 2100 MHz frequency band. If you are unsure, check your phone manual or contact Cellular Abroad at 1-800-287-5072 or firstname.lastname@example.org
WARNING: This SIM Card does not make or receive calls. It is a broadband data SIM Card for data sessions only.
Setting up your International Data SIM Card
Your SIM chip is in the envelope attached to these instructions.
- Your Service has been registered by Cellular Abroad
- Insert the SIM chip into your phone - typically the SIM bay is found underneath the battery on most standard GSM phones. iPhone and iPad users have SIM trays that slide out from the top/side. The metal portion of your SIM chip should be facing the gold metal contact prongs inside your phone.
- Power on your device. If your screen displays an "Insert SIM" or "Invalid SIM" error, please make sure the SIM card is inserted correctly and securely.
Data Plan Setup
Typically there is no need for any setup. The SIM will automatically populate the APN in your device and grab the Softbank network. If you are given a network choice select Softbank. If you are unable to connect to the internet set your APN to 3gnet. Note: Our service testers report it takes a few minutes for the Softbank network to appear and the 3G symbol to populate.
Below are the data plan instructions for some current popular smart phones. If you are unable to set up data using these instructions, consult the user manual for your phone. You can also call Cellular Abroad at 1-800-287-5072 or if overseas at +1310 862 7100.
