If you experience any technical difficulties with your phone or SIM card and you do not contact Cellular Abroad for technical support by phone or by email during your trip, we cannot offer any refund or compensation.

Dialing information
Your phone needs to be an unlocked dual-band, tri-band or quad-band GSM phone capable of functioning on the 900/1800 MHz GSM band in order to accept the SIM card.

Your Israel Cell to US: Call *313 and wait for a voice prompt. Dial 1 to initiate an international call, then dial 00 - 1 - area code and phone number.
US to Your Israel Cell: 011 – 972 – 9-digit number
Your Israel Cell Number to Israel: city code - phone number.
Israel to Your Israel Cell Number: city code - phone number.

Important: Toll free 800 numbers based in the US can not always be called from overseas cell phones.

Please Note: There is no support for service when roaming outside of Israel.

Rental Setup

  • Your SIM card has been installed. Make sure your phone is charged and the menu settings are set to English.
  • Power the phone on when you arrive in Israel and you are ready to make or receive calls.

Phone and SIM Package Purchase

  • Your SIM card has been installed. Make sure your phone is charged and the menu settings are set to English.
  • Power the phone on when you arrive in Israel and you are ready to make or receive calls.
  • For SIM Purchases Only
    Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs.

    • Make sure the phone is charged and the menu settings are in English. When you arrive in Israel you are ready to make or receive calls.

    Changing language to English
    To switch the voice menus to English, call customer service at *111, then dial 3 to change the language, and select option 2 for English. To change the language of your voicemail, dial *159 SEND and select option 2 for English

    Voicemail
    To check your voicemail:

    • *151 and press the SEND key.
    • To check your voicemail dial *80
    • Default PIN is 1111#

    Checking Your Credit
    You can check your account balance anytime, all you have to do is:

    • Dial *111 and press the SEND key (this is toll-free, 24/7 call)
    • Dial 3 to change the language, and select option 2 for English.
    • Dial 1 to hear your balance.

    Purchasing More Talk Time
    The most convenient way is by calling Cellular Abroad 018 310-862-7100 before as well as during your trip or toll-free from a landline in Israel at 00-800-362-33333.

    Each $29 recharge voucher offers approximately 200 minutes of calls to the US or Canada or 70 minutes within Israel. You can instantly apply the code to your phone or we can have the credit remotely added to your phone within 24hrs.

    Alternatively, recharge vouchers from Orange (called BigTalk ™), may also be purchased within Israel in denominations of 50, 75, 100 and 200 NIS at cellular stores, convenience stores and most post offices.

    Adding Talk Time
    To add talk time, follow these instructions (Talk time can only be added while in Israel):

    1. Dial *111 and press the SEND key (this is toll-free, 24/7 call)
    2. Dial 3 to change the language, and select option 2 for English.
    3. Press 2 to “Add Airtime”.
    4. Follow the voice instructions to enter your card number and password number, both located on the refill card.

    Troubleshooting
    If you are unable to make or receive calls switch networks on your phone.  Consult your phone’s manual.  The steps will be like these:

    • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Available Network/Change Network > Search
    • Select a different network carrier than the one currently shown.

    If you are receiving no reception bars, emergency calls only, SOS, or no service
    check your phones band setting:  Consult your phone’s manual. The steps will be like these:

    • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Network Setup >Band
    • Make sure you select 900/1800

    Service Life
    You must use your SIM at least once every 12 months to retain your service.  Call credits are valid for 12 months once they are active on your account.

    Customer Service
    For problems with the cellular network or service:

    • Contact customer service in Israel by dialing *111 from your handset. This is a free call.

    To reach Cellular Abroad for recharges, billing or hardware support:

    • From a landline, (NOT from payphones, mobile phones, and majority of hotels) Cellular Abroad can be reached 8am to 4pm PST, Monday - Friday with English customer support and recharge services by dialing this number: 00-800-3623-3333. Please note that some hotels may charge for toll free calls. You may reach us from your cell phone at +1-310-862-7100 (not a toll free call) or via email at support@cellularabroad.com.

    To inquire about the possibility of extending your SIM card’s service life while outside the SIM card’s country of origin, contact the telecom provider's customer service, Cellular Abroad does not provide support for this feature.
