Dialing information

Your phone needs to be an unlocked dual-band, tri-band or quad-band GSM phone capable of functioning in the 900/1800 MHz GSM band.

Please note: Once your SIM card has been activated, we cannot offer a refund.

Your French Cell Number to USA: 001 – area code – phone number
US to French Cell: 011 – Your French number
Your French Cell Number to France: Direct dial French number
France to Your French Cell Number: 0 – Your French phone number - (minus the 33 country code)

Important: US toll free numbers are not accessible from overseas. Be sure to get valid international numbers prior to your departure.

Please Note: There is no support for service when roaming outside of France

Activation

Rental / Phone Purchase Setup

  • The SIM Card has been installed
  • Make sure your phone is charged before you leave
  • The initial credit has been preloaded
  • You must register your service before you depart - See Activating your service below
  • Once activated you may make or receive calls once in France - please note your service does not roam in the US you will see "no service"

For SIM Card Only Purchases
Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs.

  • If prompted for a PIN number, your default PIN is "0000". To disable PIN-check at startup, consult your phone's user guide.
  • The initial credit has been preloaded
  • You must register your service before you depart - See Activating your service below
  • Once activated you may make or receive calls once in France - please note your service does not roam in the US you will see "no service"

PIN and PUK Information
For rentals and phone package purchase the PIN has been deactivated. For SIM card only purchases the PUK code is located on the credit card sized casing surrounding the SIM card.

Activating Your Service
IMPORTANT: You must activate before departing. The French government requires the following information:

  • Your Lebara Mobile France cell phone number
  • User's name
  • Date of birth
  • Passport number
  • Please email this information to: support@cellularabroad.com

If you are activating more than one SIM card, please send separate emails.

Voice Mail           
To access your voicemail messages:

  • Dial 2345 to go to your voicemail box. There is a €0.15 per minute charge to access your voicemail box.
  • Messages will play in the order they were received. Dial 2 to erase, 3 to replay, or 4 to store the current message and listen to the next message.
  • If there are no messages; dial 1 to listen to archived messages, dial 2 to change your personal greeting, and dial 3 to change your voice mail settings.

Checking Your Credit

  • Dial *133#SEND (toll free) to see your credit balance.
  • Or dial 2323 SEND (toll free) to hear your credit balance.

Adding More Talk Time
You may add more talk time directly from Cellular Abroad. We offer 10 Euro recharge vouchers for $24, which lasts for 30 days from the time of addition. Alternatively, recharge vouchers are available to buy in different denominations locally within France.

  • The most convenient way is by calling Cellular Abroad 001 310-862-7100 or Toll Free from a landline at 00-800-3623-3333 (8am to 4pm PST, Monday through Saturday, English speaking reps) before as well as during your trip. We only carry the 10 Euro recharge voucher for $24. We can add recharges remotely to your account.
  • To add your talk time, Dial *133* enter code # SEND. A confirmation will appear on the phone's screen.
  • Or you can Dial 2323 (toll free) from your handset, you will hear a French voice menu. When you begin to hear the menu options select option 3 for the language selection. When you hear the promtps in this submenu select option 2 for English. The voice menu will now be permanently set to English. Follow the prompts to enter your 16 digit recharge code (e-voucher). Please be aware if you enter in the code 3 times and it is not accepted you will be blocked from adding recharges and can only be unblocked by contacting Lebara customer support.

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to make or receive calls switch networks on your phone.  Consult your phone’s manual.  The steps will be like these:

  • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Available Network/Change Network > Search
  • Select a different network carrier than the one currently shown.

If you are receiving no reception bars, emergency calls only, SOS, or no service
check your phones band setting:  Consult your phone’s manual. The steps will be like these:

  • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Network Setup >Band
  • Make sure you select 900/1800

Calling Rates
All incoming calls are free regardless of origin.

  • Domestic Outgoing – €0.15/minute
  • International calls (US, Canada, & Europe) – €0.08/minute
  • Calls to other Lebara customers – FREE for the first 10 minutes, then €0.15/minute thereafter.
  • There is a €0.15 connection fee for every successful outgoing call.

Text Rates

  • Incoming – Free  
  • Outgoing Domestic – € 0.10/message  
  • Outgoing International – € 0.15/message

Customer Service
For Lebara Customer Care, dial 0811 29 2323 from a land line, or 2323 from your handset while in France (toll-free).

To reach Cellular Abroad for recharges, billing or hardware support:

  • From a landline, (NOT from payphones, mobile phones, and majority of hotels) Cellular Abroad can be reached 8am to 4pm PST, Monday - Friday with English customer support and recharge services by dialing this number: 00-800-3623-3333. Please note that some hotels may charge for toll free calls. You may reach us from your cell phone at +1-310-862-7100 (not a toll free call) or via email at support@cellularabroad.com.

Service Life
The SIM card is valid for 90 days after your first call. Adding a recharge credit voucher will push back the SIM card expiration another 90 days.

If you experience any technical difficulties with your phone or SIM card and you do not contact Cellular Abroad for technical support by phone or by email during your trip, we cannot offer any refund or compensation.
