Rental Setup

  • Make sure your phone is charged and the menu settings are in English.

For SIM Card Purchases Only
Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs.

  • Turn on your phone and—if prompted—enter the 4-digit PIN code. (If not prompted, then the PIN-check feature has been turned off.) The PIN and PUK information is in the packaging.
  • Make sure your phone is charged and the menu settings are in English.

PIN and PUK codes
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code prevents unauthorized access to the SIM card in your phone. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly 3 times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. To un-block the SIM card, you will need to enter the PUK (Personal Unlock Key) code. Please consult your manual for how to disable the PIN-check feature.

Activating Your Service

  • Go to Finland.
  • Turn on your phone
  • Once your phone registers to the Go network, you will automatically be credited for 5 Euros of talk time (about $6)
  • Place a call.

Voicemail
Voicemail service is a standard service and activates when you activate your card. Calls are automatically diverted to the Voicemail box if you do not answer the phone or if your phone is outside the coverage area.

Checking Your Balance

  • Enter *100# into your handset
  • Press <Send>
  • You will receive an SMS with your balance

Purchasing More Talk Time
You may conveniently recharge your SIM Card by purchasing recharge coupons at many convenience stores, electronics shops, magazine kiosks, cell phone stores and gas stations. Recharge cards are available in different denominations.

Adding Talk Time
Even if you have zero credit, since incoming calls are always free, you will still be able to receive calls. Recharge cards have PIN codes that are entered into your cell phone by following these simple directions:

  • Rub off the protective layer to reveal the recharge code number
  • Call 0800 557730 from your handset
  • Press 2 for the reload option
  • Enter the recharge code off the coupon followed by the # sign
  • You will receive voice confirmation

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to make or receive calls switch networks on your phone.  Consult your phone’s manual.  The steps will be like these:

  • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Available Network/Change Network > Search
  • Select a different network carrier than the one currently shown.

If you are receiving no reception bars, emergency calls only, SOS, or no service
check your phones band setting:  Consult your phone’s manual. The steps will be like these:

  • Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Network Setup >Band
  • Make sure you select 900/1800
