Please be sure to read these instructions prior to departing for Croatia. If you're consulting your phone's user guide, please defer to the instructions below with regard to the use of your Croatia SIM card. (Phone manuals are written in general terms.) |

If you experience any technical difficulties with your phone or SIM card and you do not contact Cellular Abroad for technical support by phone or by email during your trip, we cannot offer any refund or compensation.

Your Croatia Cell Number to Croatia: area code - phone number

Important: US toll free numbers are not accessible from overseas. Be sure to get valid international numbers prior to your departure.
Please Note: There is no support for service when roaming outside Croatia.
Rental Setup
- Make sure the battery is charged and the menu settings are in English.
For SIM Purchases Only
Snap out the VIPme chip from the credit-card sized SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone's SIM card slot. If unsure, please consult your phone's manual.
- Make sure the phone is charged and the menu settings are in English.
- Enter PIN. (The PIN and PUK codes are provided in your SIM card packaging). Press Talk/Send/Yes (depending on phone model). Disable the PIN-check feature on your phone.
- After installing the SIM chip, you'll be able to add numbers to your address book, but you will not be able to make a call until you're in Croatia.
PIN and PUK codes
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code prevents unauthorized access to the SIM card in your phone. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly 3 times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. To un-block the SIM card, you will need to enter the PUK (Personal Unlock Key) code. Please consult your manual for how to disable the PIN-check feature.
Activating your service
- You must make a call to a local number in Croatia to activate the card. (It's not necessary to have the call go through, though.)
- You are now ready to place or receive calls.
Voice Mail
Dial (VIP sekretarica) at 091 70 00. All calls are free of charge.
Checking your credit
You can check your account balance by calling: 917788 or press *101#. You will also receive a text message when your credit runs low.
Purchasing More Talk Time
Recharge cards, known as VIPme vouchers are readily available at convenience stores, gas stations, VIP-NET shops, tobacco shops, magazine kiosks and other authorized outlets. You may purchase them in denominations of 100kn and 200kn (The 100kn denomination has a validity period of 90 days and the 200kn voucher has a 180 day validity period).
Adding Talk Time
The new credit purchased is added to the existing credit. Even if you have zero credit, since incoming calls are always free, you will still be able to receive calls.
- Buy a VIPme recharge voucher
- Gently scratch the protective coating on the back of your card to uncover a 14-digit recharge code.
- Dial *103*, then the 14-digi refill code, then # and then <OK>
- You will be notified that the credit has been applied

Service Life
Credit from a 35 HRK is valid for 30 days. The 100 HRK recharge is good for 90 days and you have 180 days in which to use the credit from a 200HRK voucher. After the expiration of the credit, there is a 90 grace period during which credit can be added and the phone number retained. If more than 90 days go by after the expiration of the credit, the SIM card and corresponding phone number become invalid.
To inquire about the possibility of extending your SIM card’s service life while outside the SIM card’s country of origin contact the telecom provider's customer service, Cellular Abroad does not provide support for this feature.
