1. Be sure that battery is charged
2. Insert the Colombia SIM card into your GSM cell phone (snap out the Colombia SIM chip from the SIM chip holder and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs. You will usually find your phone's SIM tray underneath the battery of your GSM cellphone).
3. Turn on your phone. Enter the PIN code provided in your packaging. Cellular Abroad highly recommends that you disable the PIN-check feature of your phone. Please consult your phone's user guide if unsure how to do this.
4. Check that phone powers on normally and that you can access menus. Do not attempt to make or receive a call.
5. Go to Colombia before using the phone to make phone calls
6. Purchase a scratch card and apply the credit to your prepaid account from your handset to activate your service.

Adding Call Credit:
In order to recharge your account, purchase an "Amigo" Credit Increasing Card (scratch-card). These can be found at kiosks, gas stations, newspaper stands, office supply stores, supermarkets, or in the authorized dealer's stores. The cards come in $20.000 (~$9), 30.000 (~13), $50,000 (~$22), $100.000 (~$44) denominations.

To recharge your account: dial: *600. The automated system will ask you to put in the card code.

If you are not finding a network, make sure that your cell phone is set to the 850/1900 GSM band. (Some phones do not switch bands automatically.) Consult your phone's user guide if unsure how to do this.
