Activating Your Service
In order to make and/or receive calls while traveling, you will need to activate your SIM Card. To activate your account, email the following information to support@prepaidsource.ca

  1. Your full name
  2. The city you are traveling to within Canada
  3. Your contact email
  4. Your 20 digit SIM number of the chip you received (located on the back)
  5. Departure Date

Once this information is received, your account will be activated with a mobile number for the city you are traveling to. Your default calling plan will be the Anytime Plan. Although the registration will typically take 24 hours from receipt of your email, please allow for 48-hour turn around just to be safe.

Adding Talk Time
You can "top up" your phone by purchasing a Rogers Wireless Prepaid voucher at convenience stores, gas bars and other retailers across Canada. Top Up vouchers are available in $10, $20, $30 and $40 denominations and expire 30 days from activation. Rogers will only allow 1 voucher per month to be purchased via phone with a credit card. There is a $100 voucher that offers a full 365 days worth of service (see SIM service life). This is very popular with folks who can only get up to Canada once a year.

Activating GSM voicemail from a landline or another phone

  1. Dial your wireless phone number. Applicable local airtime or long distance will apply if calling from outside your local calling area.
  2. Press # to interrupt the greeting.
  3. Enter your temporary numeric password. This is usually 1+month+date of your subscription date i.e. if you signed up on February 14, you temporary password is 10214.
  4. Follow the instructions given by the voicemail system to set up a new password and personal greeting.

To access Voicemail from your GSM phone

  1. Hold down the "1" key on your wireless phone or select "listen to voicemail" from the phone menu (this will vary by device).
  2. Enter your confidential password. When retrieving voicemail outside of your "home" local calling area, long distance charges will apply.
